UNC Hires Michael Malone as Basketball Coach After Davis Firing

The University of North Carolina has hired former NBA champion coach Michael Malone to lead its basketball program. Malone replaces Hubert Davis, who was fired following UNC's first-round NCAA Tournament loss to VCU. The 54-year-old coach last worked in college basketball as an assistant at Manhattan in 2001.
