INDIANAPOLIS – As anticipation builds for Monday night's NCAA championship showdown between Michigan and UConn, the world's largest March Madness bracket received its final update Sunday morning.
Crews from Indianapolis-based Sport Graphics dangled from the side of the J.W. Marriott hotel to complete the massive installation. Workers carefully positioned Michigan and UConn's names at the center of the 60,000-square-foot banner that has dominated the downtown skyline throughout the tournament.
The company marks its 40th anniversary this year with this record-breaking project. Sport Graphics first decorated the glass tower of the J.W. Marriott when Indianapolis hosted Super Bowl XLVI in 2012. They returned to transform the building again when the city hosted the Final Four in 2015.
This year's banner surpasses the previous 2021 version by approximately 20,000 square feet, cementing its status as the largest March Madness bracket ever created. The dramatic visual display has become a landmark for tournament visitors and local residents alike.
The updated bracket now sets the stage for Monday's championship matchup between the Michigan Wolverines and Connecticut Huskies. Both teams advanced through the tournament to earn their spot on the massive downtown installation.
